For the last several months we have been having "issues" with our dog. Starting with the invisible fence. The day we were leaving to go on our week long trip up north, the control box quit working. Well as a quick fix we put Luke (our dog) on a chain....which I hate!!!!! Well here it is the middle of October and the fence hasn't been fixed and the dog is still on the chain...grrrrr! We had to move Luke to the back yard for obvious reasons...when a dog is chained there is limited space to uhhh go. Anyway poor Luke has been in the back yard for a while now and he has made a barking buddy with some dog behind our lot. They decide about 4:30 in the morning is a great time for a chat. Ironically Craig never heard our babies cry but the second that dog barks he is out of bed like a shot. Luke was pretty good and quit barking at the sight of dad with bed head in his skivvies telling him to "be quiet". But Craig was getting a bit tired of getting out of bed every morning at 4:30 so he came up with a plan of putting Luke in the garage at night time in a kennel. The next morning Craig woke with a huge smile on his face and exclaimed "Luke slept through the night!" (I of course had to roll my eyes...he was never that excited when the kids started sleeping through the night!)
The kids thought the kennel was the coolest thing ever and wanted to put Luke in it yesterday. I had to tell them it wasn't a playhouse for Luke but only a bed for night time. They both wanted to help put him to bed...well we didn't want to put him to bed at 8p.m. so we told them "When Dad puts him back out in the morning you can help." The kids went straight to bed so they could wake up early to help Dad.
This morning when Zane came and got in bed with us he curled up ready to go back to sleep when I asked him if he was going to go out and help Dad with Luke, he jumped straight out of bed rearing to go.
I went in to Laurens room and typically sit there and rub her back to get her to wake up, this morning I quietly asked her if she was going to help her Dad she litterally jumped straight out of bed, I was trying to help her into her robe so she wouldn't freeze, she was in such a hurry she couldn't even get her arms in her sleeves.
I told Craig that I wish we had this sort of motivation to get the kids out of bed every morning!

What a funny story! I read it yesterday and had to tell John about it. Maybe if you would of stuck Lauren and Zane outside as babies, Craig would of been more tempted to get up with them when they cried. Or maybe, just maybe, he will be trained with Luke, and will jump right up when #3 comes along. Am I starting something here??
Cute dog I have always wanted a dog to my self but mom said no. :(
